Taking over a site, hosting, access and what happens when something breaks.
Can you maintain a website you did not build?
Usually, yes. We start with a short audit of the code, hosting and plugins, then tell you plainly what needs fixing before it can be looked after properly.
Do we have to move our hosting?
No. We work with your existing hosting where the access allows it. If the hosting itself is the problem, we will say so and explain the options.
What do you need from us to start?
Access to the site's admin or code, the hosting account and the domain settings — or someone who can grant it. Nothing is changed before the audit is agreed.
What happens if the site goes down?
Uptime monitoring alerts us, and a site that is down or a form that has stopped sending is handled ahead of planned work. Response times are agreed in the plan.
Should we fix the old site or rebuild it?
It depends on how it was built and what it costs to keep patching. The audit answers that with a recommendation, and a rebuild is suggested only when fixing costs more over a year.
